NWT/Nunavut Lotteries has been helping northerners play since 1979.

Originally housed within the Sport North Federation, the business of marketing the sale of Western Canada Lottery products has evolved into a stand-alone operation based in Yellowknife, NWT.  Throughout these changes, the history and roots of the lottery business and its commitment to physical activity and play in the north remain strong.

Play On!

These words have a dual meaning here at NWT/NU Lotteries. Our customers can play an array of entertaining games such as the popular Draw Based Games of Lotto 649 & LottoMAX; Scratch N Win Games like Bingo or Crossword; or sport wagering through our suite of Sport Select Games like Pro-line and Props. When our customers play these games, we are able to help northerners get out and play.

We know that play, physical activity, recreation and sport are important to northerners, and this is why NWT/Nunavut Lotteries continues to invest the income from lottery games, approximately $4 Million dollars annually, into programs and events that contribute to everyone playing.  Investments are aimed at increasing participation in physical activity overall; enhancing system capacity (coaches, leaders and volunteers); and increasing participation in organized sport and recreation activities.

Recipients of these program investments over the years have included the Aboriginal Sport Circle of the NWT, Beaufort Delta Sahtu Recreation Association, Mackenzie Recreation Association, NWT Recreation and Parks Association, and the Sport North Federation.  As well, indirect recipients of NWT/Nunavut Lotteries funds have been Territorial Sport Organizations, and numerous community sport and recreation groups, schools and clubs in both territories.
